Try your hand at making your own butter from cream the old fashioned way transporting you back in time to when dairy was real and you worked hard for every gram with no electricity. Be guided through the entire process hear stories of traditional butter makers learn milking techniques and more!

Immerse yourself in the old-world butter making experience surrounded by world-class views of the spectacular D'Entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island.

Located in the picturesque area of Birchs Bay just 40 minutes from Hobart this fun and unique class will teach you everything you need to know about making butter the traditional way before electricity was invented.

Listen to fascinating stories of olden day butter makers learn essential hand milking techniques with the resident metal sheep called 'Shirl' and indulge in a tasting of buttermilk and unsalted butter before getting down to business!

You'll work hard out on the deck to churn wash and form your own pat of butter to take home and enjoy with family and friends.
