Diabetes TASMANIA is a social enterprise organisation with the aim of improving both the health outcomes of people with diabetes and the quality of life for those people and their families and carers.

There is an estimated 40,000 people in Tasmania affected by diabetes. In addition 65,000 Tasmanians have impaired glucose tolerance or pre diabetes. This is amongst the highest number described internationally.

Diabetes TASMANIA is the principal agent of the Commonwealth for the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), directly responsible for the distribution of consumables such as testing strips, needles and syringes required by people with diabetes to self manage their condition.

If you have recently been diagnosed with diabetes you will find that a Diabetes TASMANIA membership will greatly assist you in managing your condition properly and effectively.

Our Diabetes Educators are highly qualified and experienced and can offer you the best information and support available.
