Lake Cethana |
Lake Cethana is a Hydro Tasmania lake located in north-west Tasmania, near Moina, which is approximately one hours drive south-west of Devonport and two hours west of Launceston.
Lake Cethana was created as part of the Mersey-Forth hydro-electric scheme, and features deep waters stocked with plump trout, and is ideal for fishing (license required) and enjoying a picnic or barbecue on the shore.
Moina offers a wide choice of luxury eco-lodge accommodation surrounded by mountains, tall eucalpyt forests, fern glades and pockets of rainforest, with other natural attractions close by, such as Mole Creek Karst National Park and Cradle Mountain National Park.
