The Melanie Harris Memorial Trust has been established to help the Harris family, and thereafter other families in need.
Melanie Harris died from SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome) on the 19th March 2006 at age 29, leaving five children from ten to eighteen months and husband Daniel, who has given up work to care for the children full time.
There was in excess of 1200 people at Melanies funeral and the procession drove around the Huonville roundabout twice because this is what Melanie did to really annoy everybody to the delight of her children.
In an effort to help Melanies Husband Daniel to raise and educate their five children, the Melanie Harris Memorial Trust was formed with the aim of raising $300,000. Once the target $300,000 has been reached the Trust will continue to raise funds to assist other families who have been affected by this Syndrome.
Initiatives such as The Dom Laptop Warmer make a vital contribution towards allowing the Trust to continue its work.
