Something Wild |
Something Wild is a private, non-government funded rehabilitation and conservation wildlife sanctuary for orphaned and injured animals.
It is the worlds largest Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary encompassing approx. 1200 acres. The main visitor site covers an area of 30 acres allowing plenty of space for these animals to feed and interact as they would in the wild. There are pathways around the sanctuary to allow for full access for wheelchairs, to all the facilities. A golf car is available for groups.
The sanctuary nurtures our native wildlife back to good health and prepare them for eventual release. Something Wild also has a number of habitats for animals that are unsuitable for release or may have been bred in captivity where visitors may enjoy viewing these special animals.
We are located just 2km prior to Mt. Field National Park, Tasmania, and just 45 mins north west of Tasmanias capital city, Hobart.
Our location gives you the opportunity for a fantastic day trip of wildlife and wilderness with a visit to Russell Falls.
A 15 minute wheelchair access walk is available to Russell Falls.
