Mineralogical Society of Tasmania Inc |
The Mineralogical Society of Tasmania is a member body of the Tasmanian Lapidary and Mineral Association Incorporated.
The society is based in Hobart, Tasmania, and boasts over 40 members, predominately from South-East Tasmania, but with some members from around the state, the mainland and as far away as England.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the first Friday of each month at 7.30pm, in the first year lecture theatre, Geology Dept., University of Tasmania, Sandy Bay. Visitors are very welcome.
Meetings are usually well attended and feature minerals for viewing, identification and sale, along with guest speakers and a Mineral of the Month session, equipping members with a better knowledge of different mineral species and groups.
Membership costs $20 for singles and $30 for a family (includes 4 newsletters/yr).
