Tolosa Park |
Tolosa Park is generally open between 10.30am - 4pm with the exception of daylight savings where times extend to between 10.30am - 8pm.
The park is a free public facility. Community groups or organisations wanting to host activities or events in the park should contact Glenorchy City Council to check that there are no event clashes or permit requirements.
The Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park includes a range of trails including cross country, downhill, mountain cross, dirt jumps and northshore tracks. It was designed by world-renowned course designer Glen Jacobs and provides mountain bike riding opportunities for all skill levels, including extreme riders.
The park is located at the top end of Tolosa Street - just past Tolosa Park.
There are tall red poles at the gate and a large sign. The gates of the park are locked, but you can park your car there and push your bike through the space on either side of the gates. The park is only a few hundred metres past the gates.
The local mountain club hosts occasional local races at the park - you can find more details at the Hobart Wheelers and Dirt Devils website (external site)
Major events are also hosted at the park, such as the Australian National Mountain Bike Series, where many of Australia's top riders entertain
Safety at the park
Many of the tracks contain 'extreme' drops, jumps and obstacles. Riders should always inspect the track before riding and ride within their limits. When using the park it is a requirement that you:wear a
helmet and other protective gear
ride within your ability
carefully check the area you are going to ride before you ride itrespect other users
ensure children are supervised at all times.
