Salamanca Arts Centre (SAC) is Tasmanias hub for the contemporary expression of arts and culture, and home to exciting innovative Tasmanian creative endeavour in all forms.
Salamanca Arts Centre is home to the Peacock Theatre; several arts exhibition spaces including the Long Gallery, Sidespace Gallery, Top Gallery, Studio Gallery, Lightbox, and Hobarts only curated outdoor installation space Kellys Garden; artists studios; arts retail stores; arts organisations; Tricycle Cafe; and Mezethes Greek Tavern.
A unique and vibrant community of artist studios, galleries, venues, retail outlets, arts organisations and public spaces.
Salamanca Arts Centre is a not-for-profit Arts Centre housed in buildings owned by the Government of Tasmania and leased to SAC at peppercorn rental. More than 70 arts related organisations and individual artists are based at SAC, and SAC manages performing and visual arts spaces (Venues) within the seven heritage warehouse buildings. SAC has one artist and projects residency cottage.
