The Uni Bar is located in the TUU Building on Churchill Avenue, Sandy Bay.
The Uni Bar has a capacity of 900 people and has two bars, an outdoor seating area and stage to accomodate bands.
During these opening hours you can access the bar via the Ref Steps. For larger events, the entry is on Churchill Avenue, next to the underpass.
HISTORY
One of Hobart's iconic venues, the Hobart Uni Bar has been home to live music for over three decades. The watering hole for generations of UTAS students, the Hobart Uni Bar has existed as an accessible space for all music lovers!
A who's who of Australian acts to play at the venue have included the likes of Powderfinger, Eskimo Joe, Spiderbait, Divinyls, The Whitlams, The Cruel Sea, The Cat Empire, Ball Park Music, 360, Frenzal Rhomb, Sneaky Sound System, Hilltop Hoods, Birds of Tokyo, Xavier Rudd, Karnivool and PNAU to name just a few.
Extending to international artists, the list expands to Pendulum, Crazy Penis, Z Trip, Lyrics Born, Luka Bloom, National Pornographic, Steve Earle, Billy Bragg, Michelle Shocked, Public Enemy, Blackalicious and many more.
After a period of hiatus, the Hobart Uni Bar is back, revitalised for 2019 as the heart of live music in Hobart, offering a versatile space for touring acts to perform in Tasmania's capital city.

During our events, the bottom parking lot is closed to the public. Churchill Avenue is a no-stopping zone, so when coming to our gigs please mind the following:
DRIVING / DROP OFF / PICK UP
Driving: The parking lot at the Uni Bar will be closed. Please use the Morris Miller Library parking lot for parking, then use the underpass to reach the main entrance.
Driving from the city:
Follow Regent Street onto Churchill Avenue and past the overpass
Turn left at the roundabout
Turn left to turn onto Dubson Road
Follow Dubson Road towards the Morris Miller Library parking lot
From the parking lot, use the underpass to reach the main entrance of the Uni Bar
Pick Up / Drop Off: There is no place to stop in front of the Uni Bar, so get dropped off on Dubson Road to then use the underpass to end up at the main entrance.

To ensure a safe exit, please listen to instructions from our friendly staff.
Take the underpass back to Morris Miller Library
There will be taxis waiting at the Library
This is the place where your Uber rides or parents will have access to picking you up as well
If you are walking into town, please use the underpss and walk on the other side of Churchill Avenue
